Mark Gannaway CPCU, President
Safeware’s strategy is executed under the leadership and direction of Mark Gannaway, CPCU. Mr. Gannaway has twenty-five years of insurance experience including executive roles in both insurance company and MGA operations.
Mr. Gannaway understands the needs of the insurance industry and financial community and is well respected within both industries having pioneered the selling of insurance through lenders while providing risk management services to community and regional lenders. He has a strong background in underwriting, product development, risk evaluation, superior program knowledge on voluntary and involuntary insurance products, strong sales and vendor networks, and is proficient with loan applications, loan servicing and insurance agency management software systems. Former and current clients include Apple, Bank of America, Centex Home Equity Corporation First Union/Wachovia, Synovus Group, and The Bank of New York.
Matt Wagner, Executive Vice President & General Counsel
Matt serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Safeware. Matt has significant experience in insurance defense and commercial litigation, insurance regulatory and compliance, and corporate law. He is responsible for all legal, compliance and regulatory affairs for Safeware.
James Johnson PA, Chief Operating Officer & Vice President - Finance
James Johnson brings 14 years of insurance experience to Safeware as its Chief Operating Officer. Over his tenure with Safeware, James has been instrumental at improving operational efficiency by automating agency processing systems and streamlining departmental procedures. He has also guided the Company through 4 acquisitions over the past 10 years while doubling the size of the agency.
Prior to his tenure with Safeware, James spent 2 years with Personal Service Insurance Company heading up their accounts payable and Financial reporting departments. His experience with the Insurance Company has provided invaluable knowledge when working with agencies existing carriers.
James has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University and is a licensed public accountant for the State of Ohio.
Dan Day, Vice President Business Development
With over 15 years of Sales and Management experience, Dan Day works side by side with Quang Ha to manage all new Business Development for Safeware.
Dan is directly responsible for new Commercial and Educational sales opportunities; Advertising and Marketing Design and Implementation; and Business Partner Development. Dan also serves as the primary point of contact for all new Apple and Motion Computing sales opportunities. Dan has also served as the Customer Support Manager for Safeware.
Prior to his tenure with Safeware, Dan spent over 6 years with America Online, and served as Senior Sales Manager, Training Manager, and Project Manager.
Susan Gropp, Director of Claims
Susan Gropp has over 25 years of experience in the insurance business with an emphasis on claims and underwriting. Ms. Gropp has claim’s authority for several domestic insurance companies as well as Underwriters at Lloyds. Ms. Gropp is a former director of the Texas Surplus Lines Association and received the 2005 President’s Award.
During her career, Ms. Gropp has reorganized claim departments, implemented claims systems for several of her former companies while providing claims consulting for several outside insurance carriers who needed her expertise. She has an outstanding reputation in the insurance industry for service and knowledge of property and casualty claims and underwriting.
Previous employers include three years at Maclean Oddy & Associates as Senior Vice President over Underwriting, Director of Claims and Auto Operation Services at Tristar Managing General Agency, Inc. for eleven years and Director of Claims and Operations at Walker-Fischer and Alexander and Alexander.
Anita Kimber, Vice President Underwriting & Compliance
Anita Kimber has been with Safeware Insurance since 2000, she is the Senior Account Underwriter and is responsible for quoting all new fleet business. She also helps provide client support for fleet customers. Anita received her Property & Casualty license in 1995 while working for Nationwide Insurance. She has over 14 years of insurance experience.
Quang Ha, Vice President Business Development
Quang is a 2004 graduate of The Ohio State University. With nearly 10 years at Safeware, he has established himself as a valuable asset. Quang has grown from his role as Customer Service Agent, to be promoted to Customer Service Manager, to recently be promoted once again to Vice President of Business Development. Quang has a very keen business mind, and he is always striving to create new ways to promote and market business. Quang has personally conceptualized, designed, and created several current marketing ideas and promotions which have proved integral to Safeware’s ongoing success.
Quang works alongside Dan Day at Safeware, and is directly responsible for new Commercial and Educational sales opportunities; Advertising and Marketing Design and Implementation; and Business Partner Development. Quang is also the Primary Point of Contact for all HP, Lenovo, and Online Distribution Partner Opportunities.
Brian Anichowski, Director of Information Technology
Brian Anichowski’s information technology experience spans 25+ years and started at the beginning of the PC movement in the early 1980’s. He has experience in all facets of customer service and support in the financial services space. His technical background includes, network (voice and data) engineering, software architecture and development, database design as well has operational support. His specialty is in the area of middleware engineering and development.
Mr. Anichowski came to Safeware in 2004 as a consultant leading a team that would overhaul all aspects of the organizations technical operations. After spending 2 year renovating Safeware’s infrastructure, he joined Safeware as its Director of Information Technology to oversee and participate in the firm’s long term 7x24 operational success.
Prior to consulting and coming to Safeware, Brian spent 10+ years with a national top 5 bank. During his tenure, he ran teams that supported and developed applications for retail online, call center, and banking. During his last 3 years in financial services he was focused on the investment management line of business. He and his team built the middleware to support internal as well as customer facing systems.
