28 March 3G, 4G, 5G…Oh My! March 28, 2019By Stephanie Wise Technology cell, cellphone, cellular, data, network, phone, safeware, tech, technology, wifi 0 If you aren’t naturally tech-savvy, it can be hard to keep up with the ever-changing mobile technology industry. New cellphone models are continually released, and cellular networks continue to advance their offerings. Cellular networks often advertise themselves as being 3G, 4G, or even 5G. The “G” refers to the generation of the cellular technology used. As the generations continue to evolve, so do their benefits. Newer generations of wireless technology continue to provide faster and more robust options for consumers, including more high-speed access to the internet, quicker download times, and more reliable network connectivity. The usability of these different generations of wireless technology is reliant upon cell phone towers. Your cellphone interacts with these towers which are armed with all sorts of equipment to connect your mobile device to the internet. As we move towards 5G, reliance on large cellphone towers will decrease as numerous smaller antennas will be used instead around the country to support this advancement. Many tech aficionados are eagerly awaiting the wide-spread release of 5G, which is said to launch sometime this year. Comment (0) Comments are closed.
